Have you ever been curious whether or nor spray tanning is safe? Well according to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). If you apply tanning solution only on your skin then it is safe. People all over the US are avoiding the hazards of the harmful UV rays from the sun. People worry about the high risk of skin cancer from too much sun exposure. Too much sun exposure could also cause premature aging. People these days are doing what they can to look younger and better. This is making other tanning methods more popular, especially spray tanning systems. You can get a spray tan done at any tanning salon. You walk into the salon with pale skin and you walk out with a beautiful bronze color. If you have your tan done in a booth then you must make sure you take all safety precautions. Try not to get any of the spray on any of your mucous membranes like eyes, lips, or mouth. You need to make sure you don’t inhale any of it.

If you think you cannot be safe enough then maybe airbrush tanning will be a better option. The video below will show you how airbrush tanning is applied to your entire body. This way is done an experienced technician. The technician is careful when applying the spray. They make sure to get all of your skin evenly tanned so that there are no missed spots or areas too dark.An expert spray tanner will make sure they are most careful with tanning the thicker skinned areas like the knees, hands and feet which darken much more and quicker than the rest of your skin.

It is extremely important to properly prepare before a tanning session. This is what will determine the outcome of your results. You must shower very well to remove any excess oils. Be sure to exfoliate your skin removing all dead skin cells. If this is not done then the tan will not absorb well. Do not use any moisturizers or moisturizing soaps, these can block the tanning solution from sinking in. After your tan has been applied go home in loose fitted clothing and slippers so you don’t rub it off before it has worked through. Don’t do any activities that will smear off the solution. You should allow the tan about 5-6 hours before washing it off. Avoid harsh chemicals to your skin and always apply a moisturizer to keep your tan longer.

Mary, liked your article very much. One thing though, unfortunately spray tanning is NOT approved by the FDA. DHA is approved in lotions only at this time.

I perform spray tanning in my salon and I don't know if the DHA is very good for the skin or inhaling it every day as a therapist. I still think it is a safer option that sun baking. I would stick to organic spray tans just to be safe.
